I'd like to pass along this book to another Mud member so let me know if you want to read it.

Who needs a road?

The store of the longest and last motor journey around the world.
Harold Stephens & Albert Podell.

Thanks.

I have been looking for a new book to read. It sounds like a great book.

Too bad you're chasing young co-eds and up to your eyeballs in first semester required reads

I thought the FJ40 was supposed to make it so the co-eds chased him.

Jon, you are not seeing the whole picture here. The FJ40 lures the girl in. She tells him "Nice Jeep" as she gives a smile when they meet. She then plays hard to get by saying "Maybe I will see you around" as she drives off in her new car daddy bought. Now Paul has to chase her to show interest, but we all know FJ40s are not fast. He has to drive though the courtyards, stairs, coulee/stream, sporting fields etc... (of course not getting caught by campus police) in order to catch her. Hence, "Who needs roads" (a book he was reading) would be a good explination to the girl why he had to catch her and say "It's not a Jeep."

No that would be a FZJ-80.

NOT! FZJ80s are chick repellant. They scream "I'm driving this rig because my wife insists on airbags and enough room for all the kid seats". :flipoff2:

As long as Paul stays away from Trindad, CO he should be ok.

I propbably have a copy laying around the house somewhere too. read it a few years ago. good book.

How does when my 40 and school come up it already goes to chasing girls? I thought we were talking about a book. According to Rudy I need to read this book to be the best 40 owner, who get all the girls.

Paul,

I was being sarcastic with my post. I have no knowledge of the book spoken of, so I can not have an opinion if it needs to to be read for you to be the "best 40 owner". All I know is that when I drove my 40 around, she got attention. When you have girls honking at you because they like your truck is always a start. Otherwise, with the comments of the book, I may want to learn to reed :hillbilly:

I know you were being sarcastic. I was trying to play off of it. Didn't do my best. Oh, well. Still have to get the 40 on the road to see if I get the same amount of attention.

IIRC, the book was featured in Toyota Trails a few years ago, or at least the story was.

For the record, I've had little attention from the opposite sex with Da'40. Some but not much. Yesterday, my next door neighbor stopped to talk on her dog walk. Historically, she has had little interest in the project (annoyed?). She went out of her way not only to compliment the truck, but talk. Prior to that only her husband was sociable. I didn't know her name until a month ago.

OTOH, the guys at work have been all over it.

Not sure I agree Greg.

Seems as though this female likes my rig enough to be seen wheeling it as well as be seen with me...
