I recently purchaced a n 86 FJ60 and the PO said the A/C used to work, but it hasn't for a year or two. The compressor wont kick in because the coolant level is too low (or non existent). I was told there was a jumper for the compressor so I could activate it to see if it still runs smoothly.
Does anyone know where and how I can get the compressor to manually kick in ? Is there any other advise out there, like adding some R12 first to get some oil in there before I try?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bryan

yea you can put 12 volts to the wire off the compressor and it should kick on, bypassing any safeguards like no /r12/oil,, not the best idea tho,,

I reccomend going to an ac shop and having them check for refrigerant then you can rig it to see if it is the compressor, clutch or something else,
good luck
