98 75-series front seats - what else will fit?

Simon, if you could check to see if the dimensions match yours, that would be really great. I wonder if 75 and 78 series seats have the same mounting dimensions? They sure look the same. Did you get your recaro seats online or locally? If online, where? I could probably get the seats here in the states and then at worst get the brackets sent from Oz.
My 78 series has the same 12 inches left to right, but is 16 1/2 inches front to back.

Thanks for the measurements. Who is your local dealer? I'd like to contact regarding the brackets.

Thx!

Contact them through the Australian distributor, which you can find here...
RECARO: Contact

I think that they might be Recaro parts, so might be available through the US Recaro distributor.

But the Aussie distributor should be able to give you part numbers, to try and order through the US distributor, if that is the way you want to go.

It looks like Recaro has a whole new range of seat models compared to when I bought mine, so it might be worth making sure that the brackets fit the particular Recaro seat that you are interested in.

I went into a local Recaro shop, started poking around under seats, and realized that I was being a bit thick. I don't need a whole new slider and bracket - I can just reuse the existing ones. Duh.

The Recaro and Corbeaux seats all have plates on either side (running fore and aft) and their slider/brackets just bolt into these plates. The stock troopy seats have the same thing, but since the troopy slider/bracket is slightly narrower (12" versus ~13"), to be safe, I will bolt some flat plate (running side to side) in there. Nothing more than cutting some flat plate, drilling, and tapping.

This means that any seat with a flat bottom can be used, so I will hit the local junkyard first and see what I can find.

Cheers,
Chris.
