I kinda knew you'd say that. It makes sense too.
I've just heard iffy things about 32s with 4.10s on these rigs, like a noticeable loss of power.
Interesting, I am thinking of going to 265/75's myself.

I've read a lot of people say it's "doable" but definitely not good... loss of power, lower MPG due to lugging the engine, piss poor towing. And the 3.4 isn't a torquey engine (compared to, say, a 4.0 XJ engine) so the loss of low end gearing will hurt IMO.
I'm still going to look into swapping to 4.30s if it's cheap enough.
Try 255s with stock gearing! It's actually fine, plenty of power, but go to 4.88s and life is all better. The loss with 265/75s was negligible, and if you do any real wheeling, you will have to modify the pinch weld. Here's the real problem, once you go to 4.30s you'll wish you had 4.88s, after that, you'll wish you had 5.29s (or a SC'r), then you'll want to tub for 35's... I digress.

I am torn now. This is my DD and it will see mostly highway miles but tires are limited in the 265/70 size, pretty much everyone makes a 265/75. I will be following along to see how the 4.30 hunt goes.
Nice build so far. We are running 255/85/16 km2s and I did not need to trim much pinch weld was not touched. Only trimming was on limited flares on front bumper when it was stock. With the ARB I have no issues. At full stuff I had a little rubbage in the rear but with new rear bumper it is almost 0. If I would take the grinder to a small portion it would be gone. This is without any bumpstop mods. Click on my sig for my build thread.
255s and 4.30 is bearable but if I find a set of 4.88 for a good price I will swap out. Been running my setup for ~15-20k miles and its been fine. We do not do much towing and rolling hills a majority of the time. But we did go through Rockies, Northern Cascades and Appalachian Mts this summer and it did great.
So... Did you get them?
Are they mounted yet?
We ran 275/70/16's on our 00 4Runner sport about 8 years ago. I used to get smoking deals on tires through work and the particular tire I wanted didn't come in 265/70/16. We ran them for 2 years and I never noticed any appreciable difference in power or mileage and they were about an inch taller than stock IIRC.
Nut sure about the weight difference, but I haven't noticed any significant loss of power with my 265/75s. Course I only had a couple weeks of stock tires. When you going to have them mounted?
