I'm running a stock 96' LC (135K) with original spark plug wires, distributor, etc. Question is, is it worthwhile to upgrade the ignition system? If so, with what?

Upgrade it to new OEM cap, rotor, wires and plugs.

"Upgraded" to new OEM when I bought my rig at 91k. I am a believer in always swapping out for "better" parts when doing maintenance. I went with the recommendations of those on this board, and they were right. Mr. Toyota did it right the first time, use OEM. Call cdan he'll hook you up.
