On start up if it doesn’t immediately start up in the first crank or two it floods. It will just crank and crank, no fire. You can then smell fuel coming out of the exhaust. Yes have got it started by disconnecting the fuel pump, cranking the motor to clear out the cylinders, the plugging the fuel pump back in and it starts up. Or not. Then I repeat that procedure. This last time, I have yet to get it started, same strong smell of fuel out the exhaust. Does anyone have any ideas? I’m at a loss and ready to just pitch the truck in the scrap pile. In trying to fix this issue I recently replaced all of the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, MAF and rebuilt the injectors. None of which seems to have helped.

If you have any ideas I’m happy to entertain your thoughts.

Thanks

Dave

Maybe your injectors are shorting to ground through melted wires in the harness by the EGR and they are dumping fuel into the engine, thus flooding it.

Just a thought.
