anyone know if i have to remove this metal plate and more stuff here for a clock spring replacement? and if so any good links or instructions on what else needs to come off...?
meaning do i have to go back to the harness in green here?
or can i disconnect the red harness off the new and old clock spring and put the new clock spring on with the existing older harness?
i am replacing it because the horn doesn't work and i couldn't find another reason for it not working. also it seemed like they can break and at 20+ years it might not be a bad part to replace (despite the steep cost).
anyway the toyota tech i just ran it up to says he never does them and can't advise. he says they include the longer harness because it gets hot when the airbag goes off apparently. but again couldn't advise.
anyone got intel on this job? i looked at the FSM and i do need to take another look at the FSM tonight but it is not great for this repair.
THANKS
