Does anyone know of any reasons why my gas milage would go from a good 15 to 16 mpg to 8 or 9. I get 178 miles to a full tank of 22 gallons. Please help with ideas.

Welcome to Mud:flipoff2: (Mud salute). Lots of possibilities, assuming you don't have any engine codes and it's running normally with a recent tune-up I'd start with an easy one like checking tire pressure. You could do a search also; click on the search button and type in mpg+tire+pressure or mpg+oxygen+sensors, ---- and select the 80 section. Here's a link to a current thread about mpg:

Welcome!

You're going to need to fix that MPG problem so you can pay for all the mods you'll want after spending time on this site.

Catalytic converter plugging? E-brake dragging? I'd guess the either would cause the truck to behave sluggishly, and would expect the first to give you a code, but they are still possibilities.
