Trying to help my brother sell his truck and need help with asking price since I don’t know much about the 80 Series. Stock 94 with factory lockers, new KO2’s (less than 500 miles). Paint is faded. His cruiser plans changed cause he is retiring and planning to travel once COVID goes away.

$5k-6k? That's mostly due to the paint.

Thanks Dave

Agreed. That's not too far from where I would put it based on my LX purchase last year.

How’s the undercarriage? I see a clean front axle, but surface rust on the rear crossmember and receiver.

not sure. Let me ask him to take some pictures

80 prices just seem to stagnate vs. 40s/60s/100s. I bought mine in 11 with 200K on it for $5K. No lockers, no rust, Texas truck. It has 236K on it now. I'd be surprised if I could get $6,500 for it. That is part of the reason I've just hung onto it the past few years vs. letting it go. I've been looking at 100s and those prices seem so high to me for trucks with 200K+ etc.

I thought the same thing about fj60's 10 years ago and then they exploded in value. I used to pick them up for $2500-3500 all day 10-20 years ago. I've moved to the 80 now and from what I'm seeing, they are about to explode in value as well. Hold on to it, as more people beat theirs up on the trail or put lifts and such on them, pristine stock condition ones will keep escalating in value.

Prices have definitely been creeping up on them. The high mile but mostly clean example I bought a few years back for $3k would be closer to 5 these days, and that’s without lockers.

Yeah I am holding onto it just for that reason as I sold way too low on my 60 and my old 40. My 60 was pretty rusty and needed TLC and I could probably get 3x what I let it go for 6 or 7 years ago.

Pat, keep your sweet black 80. That thing was clean for the miles it had.

The lockers still function? Wish I wasn't outta TX for work, would love to take a look at it if I was still local. Good luck
