Will calipers off the said above work on my truck? From what I remember of my '94 v6 4runner, they looked the same as my truck.

Should be a bolt on. But ...

Your master cylinder will not be up to the task. You have a 13/16" master cylinder. You need a 1" cylinder. Get get it from the donor you get the calipers from. Also consider upgrading the brake booster. When I did this swap on my 85 the master cylinder by itself was ok, but braking was much better with the larger booster.

You will probably need to bend a few lines to clear the booster, but I think the connections on the MC are the same. Look at the MC on your truck and note where the lines hook up, e.g. on the side or top, or both. Then look at the donor and make sure they are the same. I seem to recall on my 85 I needed to obtain from the donor the line for the front. It was a simple deal as it attached to a 3-way on the booster and I just bought the booster/MC/ and line as an assembly from the boneyard.

Here are the write-ups I did on my swaps. My solid axles were more involved than yours will be, but the discussion should give you an idea how to proceed.

Bolt right up and I disagree with Pappy. Ran thos calipers for years w/o a single problem from the MC.

Sorry, the 13/16" MC will not work with the V6 calipers. It doesn't push enough fluid and the pedal goes to the floor. I tried it.

sorry you feel that way - I've run two vehicles with this setup w/o a single problem.

I agree. I've done this on several rigs (about 9 IIRC). No need to change the M/C. It doesn't hurt, but if that's all you change (the calipers on the front) there is no need to and everything works fine.

Mark...

Could it be a residual valve problem? Maybe there is just enough air in the system to cause problems? Gotta be a difference somewhere. Sorry for the hi-jack- I've been looking at this for my 40.
