1993 fj80 $3000 or best offer.
Have to sell, will not pass (CA) smog check.
Number 1 cylinder is most likely to blame (bad valve, worn out ring, cylinder wall out of round or all of the above?) Compression tested at 95. Cylinders 2,3,4,5,6 test at 160 to 170.
Compression did come up with addition of oil for a very short time.
But truck still runs well, has been my daily driver for the last 2 years.
New parts as of last summer- approx 6000 miles:
Distributor, cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires.
Wrangler duratrac 33" tires
Brake pads and new rotors front, pads and rotor turning in back, new lines all around
Power steering pump.
Rebuilt front and rear differentials w/ e-lockers, 4.88 gears, new bearings on everything diffs and hubs, also side gears on front diff
Used install of good condition oem birfields and repacking.
Brand spankin new NGK o2 sensors.
Almost forgot 308,000 miles. Located in the East Bay/San Francisco area.
p.o. said engine and transmission was rebuilt? But with no records of such work.
