92 with rear disc brakes?

Has anyone installed rear disc brakes on a 92 (US specs) FJ80?

If you're expecting a kit, it doesn't exist. I look into this awhile ago. The easiest route would be to swap in an FZJ axle with disc brakes already installed. You will have to fab a parking brake.

I was thinking on the line of adapting GM disc brake system, like a FJ60.

if you ldo a search in the 60 series section there is alot of people who use gm disc's with the rotors machined slightly to fit on a SF axle, who use a rough country bracket or build one, and then use monte carlo or eldorado or supra calipers. the last two have e-brake capabilities. the two axles are very close and i would guess this could be fitted to your 80 as easily as a 60.

shipping for a rear axle let alone the cost might be a lot more. then there is the right gear ratio etc.
Maybe easier to find one in puerto rico than ship from canadia
