92 3FE tranny question (1 Viewer)

What tranny does my 92 3FE have? And how long do they last? I'm not towing and doing mild wheeling. I have 200 on the clock, shifts smooth right now and the fluid is clean.

Here's some info on expected life. Pretty sure you have the A440F if it's mated to the 3FE. The 80 already has an air flow ATF cooler (the 62 does not), so you are starting out with less potential for overheating the tranny.

Not all 80s have the tranny cooler. Mine did not and I ended up burning it up when I went to 35's on stock gears. It did not like the manual shifting fron 2nd to 3rd. Plus it does not lockup in third, unlike my Rodney Extreme does now.

Add the biggest cooler available, or get one off a parted out 80. It makes things ALOT easier.
