91 no tach after motor replacement (1 Viewer)

Replaced motor now I have to tach. Ground from ignitor to block was the only thing I touched when it comes to ignition. Does the distributor have anything to do with the tach? Should I swap with my old one to see if that is it?

Tach pulses come from the igniter. Solid black wire.
