a local BP station has 90 octane ethanol free gas and 93 octane premium gas as well as 100 octane fuel available. Is 90 octane ethanol free gas preferable to 93 octane premium fuel? Or should I stick to 93 octane premium?

I presume this is for an LC?

The 90 octane ethanol free would be an interesting choice for efficiency and range. The LC is tuned for 87 but in really heavy use like towing in summer has shown marginal benefits to higher octane. The non-ethanol part would be a more significant contributor to MPG and range. If costs were reasonable, there's good value for this in an LC. I wouldn't use this for an LX that requires 91 octane minium.

93 premium would see almost no perceptible benefit for an LC. LX might have marginal efficiency and power benefits in heavy use.

And there are other threads about ethanol.

If you drive the car regularly stick to 93, if you park it for prolonged periods such as 4-6 months at a time ethanol free fuel will be advantageous for storage.

Lots of stations have 90 ethanol free here in Florida…entirely driven by trailer boats. Gas with ethanol can cause issues in the open vented boat fuel tanks. Condensation can cause ethanol to absorb water and cause problems in boat tanks during long term storage.

In a sealed fuel tank on a car, with frequent refills, I don’t see a reason to ever use it. The premium price will offset any efficiency gains.
