87 2F Carb on 78 2F ?

Like the title says.

Just wondering if it can work and what has to be done. If not what are the big changes.

The height will be different and there will be ports in different places. I ran a later FJ60 carb on my FJ40 for years. I remember the choke cable was the biggest issue. I had to source a cable stop to hook it up.

Zang - I have a 78 carb I could swap you if you want the right year... think this one is even in running condition.

Plan is to rebuild the carb. Probally easier then making the 87 carb fit.
