Owner says the engine/trans are sound, heat/AC work great. Little rust around left rear fender and of course on the bumpers (as you can see...). Recent repaint in factory "root beer" brown...
Custom bumpers and roof rack...(what could I sell the roof rack for?)
Tires have little wear...interior looks nice.
It has less miles than my 89 PU...lol!

Looks great inside and out. New paint, bumpers, tires, interior... If its mechanically sound- I'ld say hell yes, it's a very good buy!
Looks nice. If your in the market for that rig? I could see paying up to $5k. but seems like $4k. is in order, for the miles.
And your Pick up is good for 500k easy, as I got near that with my 85 carbed(22R) rig.

I paid $3,500 for my '84 6-8 years ago in Littleton with 120K miles, original owner, some rust. Paid $5,800 for our '83 13 years ago with 150K mi, 2nd or 3rd owner, 2nd or 3rd engine, recent repaint. Both of them rootbeer (it grows on ya).
I'd be very suspicious of the repaint & go over it thoroughly with a refrigerator magnet. Unless the seller was as anal as I am about rust you can guarantee it'll come back with a vengeance (it did on our '83). The seats & bumpers are a nice touch. Have you looked underneath? If the frame's rusty, run - run fast!

A tactic that's worked well for me is to profess that I can offer a quick, clean deal for the right vehicle. Notice I didn't say high-dollar. I'm pretty good at buying vehicles but not at selling them.

Repaint? I learned that lesson as a kid car shopping years ago... Repaint might mean coverup of an old accident.
5k is expensive... I guess if you saw my rust you'd understand how I got my '84 with 136 thou miles for $1100. It's an awesome truck tho... She's my favorite vehicle I have ever had.

Luckily I have lots of homework to do today for my online college, so I haven't had a chance to go by there.
I sent a list of mechanical/rust/history/etc questions to seller.
I'm not is a huge rush to buy or anything.
I'm not sure what I'd do with the rack if I bought it. But if I do, and I want to get rid of it I'll let the ones who showed interest know first.
My 89 PU is in great shape, very little rust...225K miles, but there's a newer Jasper remanufactured engine in it. The only things to break so far have been the rear sliding window latch and the latch for the ext cab popout window on the side. They were very brittle. I also had that clutch bracket under the dash snap. It had been previously repaired but half-assed. I stuck some angle iron in there and it's pretty sturdy now!
My lil truck works great and I don't want to end up buying something I need to sink thousands of dollars into. Couple things I don't like...it's an ext cab, so fitting car seats in it is a pain in the ass and it has no balls going uphill in 3rd gear.

So, I got some answers back from seller...let me know what you think:
I bought the Cruiser two years ago and drove it for less than 10,000 miles. I had the distributor replaced with a tune up. Some of your questions you will have to look at it and see. I think it's in incredible condition for its age, and I would definitely buy a car from Brad again. He's the one who did most of the work on it. I have some receipts as follows:
3/18/2009: Passed Colorado Smog Test
3/12/2009: Spent $1,033.53 tuning, replacing gaskets and hoses to get it to pass smog
1/22/2008: Knuckle rebuild kit, axle & differential seals, replaced motor mount
11/7/2007: Replaced front windshield
2/09/2007: Replaced Oil Pan sub-assembly
5/01/2007: Purchased 33" Mud terrains ($200/ea.)
1/25/2007: Spent $1,074.17 on suspension; OME Shocks, leaf springs, etc.
I do not have receipts, but Brad also installed the bumpers, roof rack and paint. Looking online, I would estimate he spent at least $1,500 for the bumpers alone. The power steering reservoir looks like a replacement, but I’m not certain and don’t know enough to tell you what else was replaced.
The frame drives straight at top speed, no unusual wear on the tires.
You’ll have to inspect for rust, it looks pretty clear to me.
After a long drive I will see one or two drips of oil or power steering fluid.
It burns some oil, but I drive it once or twice a week, so I can’t answer specifically, but the exhaust is not smoking.
The belts/hoses seem fine to me, they didn’t mention any problems when I had it tuned up.
The radiator/wp have no issues that I’m aware of, it has never over-heated on me.
The brakes work great, disc front and drum rear.
The carb has been rebuilt. The previous owner shipped it to a specialist in CA, and I think it needs fine tuning.
The drivetrain seems great to me.
The clutch has never given me a problem, no slippage.
Steering work done on 1/22/08, see above receipt.
I don’t hear anything weird when I’m driving in two-hi or four-low.
I do have to downshift to 3rd climbing 285 South to Conifer, I’m guessing 50-60mph. (I asked about climbing a local hill on the hwy)
It has a manual choke and it does start below zero. Seemed to warm up nicely.

Well the 60 will have even less balls.
I like that truck. Cheaper than what a lot of people around here are asking. The bumpers alone will set you back $2K.
I think it's worth what he's asking with the lift, bumpers, tires, rack, and front seats. I would take it to a cruiser mechanic to have it looked over before pulling the trigger, though. Both little and big surprises can add up quickly$$$.

Went and drove it today...it's in great running shape. No real rust on frame or anything...just one small spot on rear driver's fender.
I think I'm going to offer $4500 for it and see what he says!
