I currently have a 84 350 chev motor in my 78 fj40. The rear main seal and head gaskets need to be redone. I'm wondering what type of modifications would be necessary to install 96 chev 6.5 diesel in my 78fj40. Thx

You'll probably need a diesel bell housing because sometimes the diesels starter nose is too big for the gasser bell housing. The HD truck gasser cast iron bell housings with the open botom will work too. You'll need a diesel flywheel. Your current clutch should work ok. Engine will need to mounted higher up in the engine compartment for left exh manifold clearance.
