I bought a complete set of new ac delco belts from rockauto, but i cant' get the air pump/water pump/crank one on.

It's a T22434/88933259 belt, i have the air pump loose at bottom bolt and tensioner is rattling loose. Even prying on it gently it's at a full stop
no more room to move, but i cant' see what it's hitting.

Is there some trick to it, the old one came off with just a tiny bit of prying. But i just cant' get this back on, I had thought this would be the easy bit...

Thanks,

Eric-

could you remove the pinch bolt on the tensioner, that should give the air pump more room to go towards the engine. once belt is on move pump and re-install bolt, then tension it

My bando belt was the same. I ended up stretching it with ratchet straps to my patio supports over night. Worked fine. 😂 ideal? No. But I like to party.
