I was recently trying to find out if I could run factory 15 x 5.5 Steel Wheels on a 1994 and later 80 series with ABS and rear disc brakes.
The Information was little scarce so I figured I would fit up a set and get the answer for myself. Following that I thought I would post teh results here so other may benefit from it.
Vehicle is a 1994 80 Series FJZ80 ABS Rear Disc and Factory 16" Alloy Wheels
Wheels are FJ40 Factory OEM Steel rims from Toyota Current Stock - 42601-60072 - Steel Wheel
Tire is a BFG KM2 in a 33 x 10.5 x 15
Result is that they fit, only just but they clear and did not rub or need any clearance front or back.
The main reason for wanting to do this is builds like my BJZ43 where I am putting 40 series bodies onto 80 series Chassis.
They are close though so I would be linishing some casting down and throwing a 1/4" spacer in the truck tool bag in case I buckle one. But OEM Steel rims are very very thick compared to everything else.
Anyway hopefully this may help someone else who wants to run 15 steel sims and hubcaps on their 80
