Can anyone point me to a detailed thread on how to modify the stock 80 series auto shifter to suit the the GM 4l60e please.. I am frustrated with the B&M style cable shifter I am currently using.

^A quote of myself from the v8 swap thread. No, but I just snapped some pictures. They aren’t the greatest, but it’s pretty simple.
Flip the lever on the trans to the top so the push/pull interface between the shifter is correct. A simple mount in the trans tunnel on the passenger side to hold that cable will need to be fab’d up. Shifter works perfectly like stock after playing with adjustment a bit.
Stock GM cable bracket on side of trans (flipped to the top of course):

Here is the simple mount that is bolted to the passenger side of the trans tunnel to hold the cable on that end:

Hope this helps. It has worked perfectly for 3yrs 30k+ miles.
My mount is very similar, although I attached it to the Shift assembly, instead of the body tunnel.^A quote of myself from the v8 swap thread.

I used a long Lokar cable (5'?). It was pretty straightforward and came with the needed brackets. Do you remember what kit by chance? Part number maybe? thanksforum.ih8mud.com
