I've read this thread over about 4 times, and several other mud threads on oil filters...and am "muddy" on a few things....(OK, bad pun)
The other threads say the -20004 from Japan is preferred, but now virtually unavailable (UAE may have some, but not confirmed).

This thread says the -30002 (from Japan) would be preferred, and I see it is availalbe on Amazon (US too).
I don't understand why the other threads don't mention the 30002....perhaps it wasn't out in 2014-2015 when those were written?

I just got a '96, FZJ80, with 1FZ-FE, gasoline, (193,000 miles), going to run 100% synthetic Rotella T6, 15w-40.

--->>> Is the -30002 OK to use on mine? (I don't care about price!---I want the best for the truck)
THX!!

after researching he 30002 is for the diesel engine, not the 1FZE im still unsure as to what oil filter is recomended for the 1fze gasoline OEM . i purchased 2 - 5QT 5W 30 high mileage , Toyota OEM plugs wires , air filter , cap and rotor. but i need to buy the filter i have about 10 Toyota oil filters for my Tundra and 100 series 90915 Yzzd1 but i don't want to use them on the 1fze if theres a preferred filter.

Disassembly of the FRAM PH5123 oil filter (replacement for Toyota 30002) and also some fitting considerations for not screwing up the inner seal (yes there is an internal seal that it is worth lubing before fitting)

has anyone used or cut open some of the cheaper Japanese compatible oil filters there's so may choices on partsouq anyone have experience in these alternative brands?
