I recently bought a steering wheel from the guy selling all the wheels from the Middle East on the classified sections:
Steering Wheels for Land Cruisers (70/80/100)
It was pretty pricey but he's a supporting member so thought it would be legit. When I went to install the wheel it didn't line up in the white plastic guide on the control panel. I noticed the back of the steering wheel frame was different than mine and after some searching it matched the 80s.
My wheel off my 98
The wheel he sent me
The guides on the 100 series wheel slide into this plastic piece on the control housing
I've explained all this to the seller but he's refusing to resolve the issue. He keeps telling me the 80/100 wheels are the same and he's sold 80 wheels to many Mud users with 100s.
Can those plastic guides be removed? Will that affect the airbag or turn singles? I got to imagine they have a purpose if Toyota put them on.
