I am the proud new owner of a LC. I have eyed these trucks for years and always admired their rugged simplicity and versatility. I went for a cheap high mileage LC so I can someday do a diesel conversion and not have too much $$$ into her.
And here we go!

Hello all, just purchased LC a few months ago. 4th owner, PO was in over their head (I maybe Too!) Needs a ton of work and has been a work in progress. Hope to use as a getaway vehicle for family in the Eastern Carolina area. After years of maintianing wife's TJ wrangler felt it was time I was allowed a toy also.

I'm big time cruiser fan my daily is a 100 series and sold my chev powered 73 fj40 last year to help fund my 80
Brought it 18 months ago off a old guy that purchases it new he specced it up so has full leather heated seat etc. Like lexus version in your guys hood
Drove it round for a week then the modding start
My last 80 got extensive body damage and being fj80 cost s*** load to run.
But boy it was reliable.
So plan for new build was it had to be diesel turbo 1hd-ft with exo

It's a little beat up on the exterior and interior but it only has 122k miles and was given to me for free by a friend. Many small things to fix and one major thing to fix (won't shift into L, stuck in H). I have major automotive experience with race cars and performance sports cars. This is my first Land Cruiser and would love to learn all about them.

Hello fellow 80 series owners!

I've always wanted one of these things, and while looking for new wheels for my 1993 4Runner I stumbled across one and jumped on it. So, without further ado...

Hello, new to the forum and 80 series LC. Just picked this up a few weeks ago and finally handled the run around with title and registration. That was a bit of a pain, but it all worked out.

1) 1991 HDJ81 4.2l 1-HD-T turbo diesel
Right hand drive
2) Don
3) no idea yet
4) 142k km
5) other than the new rims (not pictured yet), not sure about susp (came this way)
6) family transport, family road and camping trips

First things first, re-gearing and the big brake upgrade is a must. After that it will need a complete tear down and rebuild of the suspension, I want the ride tight with parts I know I can trust, so new coils, arms, bushings, links, and shocks. Will also be looking into additional AC for the rear of the vehicle. Many, many maintenance items were taken care of after import and before my taking possession of the vehicle so luckily none of the main issues are a concern right now.
