i finally printed two of those weird nuts and put this on and i have to admit to being happy how this came together.
it’s the H3R quick release fire extinguisher (with mount) and my adapter for the rear seat step area.
the bolts from their kit friction fit into the adapter i made. so if you run them in tight one time and the take out the bolts they will stay in. this is important because the H3R mount covers up the printed/plastic nut locations.
when you secure the printed adapter the printed nuts form their own threads so in a way i like them better than OEM since they feel beefier and more secure. i just used a nickel to drive them.
then you screw the mount on with the H3R bolts. then just attach the fire extinguisher.
quick release function works great and does not seem like too much of a trip hazard.
anyway, i may end putting one on the passenger side for kicks.
