i am about to replace the front brakes on my 80, anyone got any good input on what pads to install, and if they are the 100 series pads, are there any hitches to installing them, and how about porcelain pads, any input?

Go with DBA rotors and FJ100 pads in front. I did this with my 94-1FZJ80 and have great braking ever since. I really think that the brakes on the 80's suck as OEM stuff; the beast is hard to stop... Proper breaking in is also necessary:

Go with the 100 series pads. Mine dropped right into the calipers and really made a difference (I got oem). It is recommended to get new rotors so the pads will wear in correctly.
