Not very much... just cosmetic. All the 81's I know are JDM models.

But exist 81 series with LHD or all are RHD .. ?

Are you sure .. ? one friend ( is the originator of this question ) in Argentina have one HDJ-81 LHD 1995 with obiusly 1HD-T but without lockers.

I believe all US spec '93 to '95 FZJ80 are actually classified (according to the VIN) as DJ81s, after that they became HJ85s

I think there are a few differences.

Fixed rear windows not sliding ones
Rear Heater on the VX
Some with rear aircon
Option for swing out rear spare wheel carrier
Top of the range is VX Limited not VX
No Leather - top spec has suede interior
Generally no front and rear diff locks - option only
No electric seats

Apart from that they are pretty much the same although over here in the UK the imports come in with a few toys like:

Pitch and roll guage
Fridge where center console would normally be
3 inch lift + 33 inch tyres
Rear spoiler

Apart from the rear windows and the spare carrier visually there isn't a lot in it. 81 was really just the JDM spec 80, same engines, transmission etc without the diff locks.
