When I drive straight or turn left on a bumpy road my suspension rattles. It sounds like it's coming from an area near the steering box. If I turn right the noise disappears. I am thinking it's either the pitman arm or center arm. I don't have play and my steering box was rebuilt a few years ago (not many miles on the vehicle since that time). Any thougths?

If it was vibrating at a full left turn, it could be your tire hitting the drag link....but this may not be your case.

I don't have any vibration in the steering. Turns easily and smoothly.
May want to check your spring bushings....here's what a few years and some rough terrain did to mine and caused a rattle in only a certain direction.

Thanks @GA Architect I'll take a look. That very well could be where my darn noise is originating. When I lift the vehicle I don't feel anything loose so that may be the culprit. BTY, nice '77 FJ40....
