I have a 77 fj40, the fuel gauge quit, so I replaced the sending unit with a new toyota one, this did not fix the problem. Took it to a garage and the mechanic checked it and got it to work. He stated that I need a new gauge. The next day the gauge did not work. I took it out and checked the connectors and got the gauge to work. It will work some days and mostly not at all, any ideas on what is going one here, checked the wires and they all lok good, I have had this fj40 for 30 years and this one stumps me.
