Hi everyone,
I’ve owned this truck for around 5 years ago and never payed much attention to this body mount. I started looking at it and said to myself that doesn’t look “toyotaish” to me.
It works I guess but my question is how is it supposed to be? The mount I’m talking about is one just in front of the rear leaf spring hanger. It seems to be made of a peace of pipe and metal plates and bolt going through.
The thing is the distance or length of the mount look to me too far apart to make the correct bodymounts to work. So not sure if the undercarriage was reworked to remove rust a long time ago or what..
But if anyone has a a picture of this mount on a 77 with pics of how the underside of the body and mount is supposed to look, please share.

What do your other body mounts look like?
Looks like you have a homemade 2" body lift.

I have a feeling that there supposed to be some sorta bracketry hanging off the body that brings it closer to the mount on the frame. Seems like it was removed at some point and a Long peace of angle iron welded in at some point and covered in undercoating. The other mounts look normal to me..

The left and right sides should be the same. The body should also look the same on each side.

You're probably right that someone replaced the factory bracket. I would bet it was a rust repair.

That box is a problemed design. The “fix” on yours has given me something to think about on fixing my 45’s rusted box.

Would it be safe to say that his PO thought outside of the box?

Uh, actually.....the angle iron appears to be inside the old OEM proverbial box, no? But his thoughts were probably another story in itself, and he more-than-likely wasn't inside the box with them.

Eh, what do I know? I'z just a guy that sketches a few lines here and there.
