77 40 with a 86 2f. What throttle assembly

I'm putting a 2F from a 86 into a 77 40

The carb is from a 86
The throttle assemblies are different for the two

What should I use
The original 77 bolts to the firewall but doesn't work with the carb

The 86 works with the carb but not the firewall

Agreed. You just need to swap the bracket that is anchored along with the base of the carburetor on the two outboard studs.
