I was worried about the oil pressure on the 83,000 mile 2F engine. When warmed up, the pressure on the factory gage was only about 3/16" above the "L" on the gage at idle. the sending unit was original from 1976. I purchased a new Toyota sending unit, (yes these are still manufactured and used on some vehicles today). The parts guy lowered the $84 price to $77 so I got out with tax just above $82. Pics show 1500 rpm and idle with the AC on. Engine warmed up 105*F in Az.

yeah the sending units have a ^shelf^ life....while they might work electrically, they loose their edge over time.
i replaced both the one on my 75 and 87 with the same results a few years ago.

when warmed up and at idle pressure will drop....after a stint on the free way mine will drop to about half way between the very first and second line at idle....as soon as some revs come on it's right back to a more suitable level.

Sounds right to me.
