Can someone share a picture of where this heat shield fits on manifold for 1976/77 FJ40?

Toyota Part No.: 17168-61014

Exhaust Manifold Insulator Heat Shield NO. 2

EDITED: The heat shield is actually for a 1979-87 2F Click here

INSULATOR, EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT

I'm not exactly sure where it will mount.

that heat shield is not for a 76-77 manifold, that is a later heat shield that mounts on the rear horn by the firewall on US manifolds that had the EGR tube coming off the rear horn.
the US earlier version had the EGR coming off the main part of the manifold so the heat shield was just an "L" shape

I'm not sure what manifold your overseas rig has or if it has the provision to mount a shield.

Thanks for this. Exactly the information I needed. My intake/exhaust manifold can be seen in images below.

the 2 holes in the heat shield go to the 2 threaded holes on the rear horn.
it will work on your manifold but isn't the correct one.
in the heat shield pic above you need to rotate it 90 degrees to the left and it will attach to the manifold

there is another shield that goes on the front horn but unsure what it looks like with the non US air cleaner

It appears my rear manifold has plugs and no threaded holes for shield. I suppose I could carefully drill and tap but not sure the payoff.

I just found the link to the Toyota Parts Deal site that shows the image provided is actually for 1979-87 2F and as you said is not the correct shield. Click here

but without threaded holes, there is no way to attach a shield to the manifold.

The 17168-61014 shield appears to fit this type of exhaust manifold. @3_puppies referenced the EGR tube which appears to connect to bottom of rear horn as shown, Click here

that is correct, the earlier egr came off the main manifold piece below where the #5 exhaust port is located
pic above is the later 79+ manifold

Can anyone @mattressking find the parts diagram for my type of exhaust manifold? The style with no bolt holes for the heat shield?

being yours is from out of the country.
did it ever have a shield?
I don't recall seeing them on central American rigs, but never really looked

It never had a heat shield. I am curious what version this 3 piece manifold is. I did find a 1981 Colombian 40
fj40L-KC from Fj Company that has the same manifold I.e no heat shield holes.

If you really want one back there, drill and tap (8x1.25mm) the holes say 12 to 15mm deep and mount the shield.

If you dig around like you found, the Fj40L-K (KC) or similar General Countries '75-'80 trucks don't supply the heat shield, only difference is the part number for the manifold and which manifold unions it would use, otherwise the same.
