76 4sp transfer behind a 89 Auto Tranny??

Will this work?

I am looking at buying an automatic tranny from a late 80's 60 series (62 i guess) and dropping it into my 76 FJ40. Will my transfer bolt on?

Anyone done this?

Get the tcase with the trans....

That auto is LOOOOONG. I just had that sitting in my chassis with the 62 t-case and the rear shaft would have been 8-9 inches long. Thats with my rear springs flipped. The trans is huge and so is the t-case. Everyone complains a 700r4 is long, but its small next to the A440 auto. p.s. notice my sig?? this is why. Tim
