First coat. It has been very nice to be painting inside, I typically spray outside. Much easier to control the temperature and the drying time

Anyone have rear bumper suggestions?

You not interested in the OEM bumper which admittedly is more of a step than a bumper?

I talked with @tornadoalleycruiser and that is the direction he pointed me in. I already have an email out to "Oh' Canada" Peggy.

Just wondered if there are other good options. Seems like a tube bumper from a minitruck would look good on it.

@WarDamnEagle @coldtaco How big of rubber spacer is there between bed and frame mount? Either of you know where to get bolts? looks like some sort of T bolt is used

PN 4 x 66418-95400 - Mounting Bolt
I had some energy suspension mounts from an FJ40 and just welded bar stock to the top of the bolt and used it.
I can look in the pile for more?

we think alike. i bought another fj40 mount kit last week for this purpose, until I saw the mounts on the bed side and realized there is some sort of T bolt.

No T bolts on my '94 FZJ75 as far as I can tell. I am not home so I can't look at the truck but here is the relevant Partsouq.com diagram and the bolts are all hex head. Hard to tell how tall the spacers are from the photos. Maybe 2"??

On the 79 bed I believe there are 4 regular style nuts and bolts and then 4 of the T-bolts.

We made our T bolts 1/2" longer to accommodate the spacers we are running....

Good information on the bolts. I did pick up the step from @tornadoalleycruiser and it mounted on one of the ribs that I moved, so we’ll have to figure out how to mount this.

Have you considered putting the same bed liner material on the steps?

That is the plan. Along with the bottom edge of the bed -- maybe an inch or two, and of course the top edge as previously discussed.

Do you have a step for each side? Mine has two.

Yes, I have them both. I think it will look better on the truck with the step. I also need to order the rear mud flap.

no, you need to order the rear mudflat MOUNTs.. not the mudflaps.. i prob have extra mudflaps and they are nothing special.. the mount is a little special.
