I know there are some other modified 75 series cruzers out there...

Im having issues with my transmission cross member after my SOA conversion.

The driveshaft still wants to all but hit it...

Can anyone post pix or give me links to any modified or specialized cross members for a vehicle with h55f tranni and 1hz engine.

Cheers

I fabricated a cross member to replace the factory one on my 1986 BJ71. I did this to provide a structural tie-in further forward for the rock sliders that I was fabricating for the truck. Consequently, this may not be a useful example for you, but here are the pictures.

Also FYI, the materials I used in the cross member fabrication was 2" by 2" (3/16") for the main member with 1/4" flat stock for the fittings. I also notched/sleaved the 2by2 adjacent to the drive shaft to ensure clearance even in extreme droop conditions. With this solution; I did reduce the vehicle ground clearance, but have not struck this cross member yet during my trail rides (at Tellico) and the sliders appear to have sufficient strength (no apparent deflections from rock hits).
