Hello all,
I am working on getting my new-to-me BJ ready for the winter. The glow controller doesn't glow, so I'm running through everything one step at a time. It's the B engine with 24 volt electrics throughout.
Issue (that I can't find another thread on): When I turn the key backwards to initiate the starting sequence, the glow controller relay buzzes noticeably for about 20 seconds the "clicks" off.
Here's a post from another forum that talks about it - glow plug relay buzz Found a couple of others that suggest low batteries.
Thanks

- I've inspected the glow controller itself, OEM Toyota, looked fine.
- Tested the batteries with the multi-meter, both around 10 volts. I have one on a trickle charger right now and will connect the other when the first is fully charged. I've read on other forums that if the batteries aren't fully charged, the relay will 'buzz' from clicking on and off extremely fast from not enough current. We'll see if it still buzzes once fully charged batteries are present.
