Good afternoon!

Is there anything that would prevent the usage of a '78 front axle on a '74 with '74 steering linkage etc?

Years ago the previous owner used a '78 front axle to gain the use of disc brakes on his '74 but the alignment is way off...and has been. I can't get it to align using standard tie-rod adjustments cause I'm out of threads on the drivers end. Perhaps recenter the tie rod on the tie rod ends and then align?

Front end is toed out about 7/16ths from where it needs to be.

It's a common drum to disc swap. Everything should fit and align. You should make sure the tre's are evenly threaded.

I was thinking that and went ahead and ordered new tie rod ends but making sure there wasn't some design differences in the steering linkage between a 74 and 78. Thanks
