Inside door trim panels stripped, only had time to paint the driver side panel. Paint color is the dupli color GM Pewter Metallic BGM0490

in the dual panel pic, rattle can finish on left, factory before stripping on right.

Also disassembled the License Plate light. I picked up a new one from Toyota, but the old one actually isn't too bad. The seals have paint on them, so I have to work on that.

And my Favorite find so far. Here in Florida, you can register an antique vehicle prior to 1976 with a same year plate. Much like the 'Antique' blue plate you can get at the DMV. you just fill out the 'year of manufacture' paperwork page and find a plate of the same year.

Busy Week last week, busy weekend with the Superdissappointment Bowl, and today being a Monday.

So, as I have discussed, HF blast cabinet operating at full efficiency. Only thing that would make it better would be a 66 Gallon or larger Compressor with 100% duty cycle. With Crypto going crazy, might just do that tomorrow.

Anyhow, in my quest for 1 thing done a day, I ordered all the metal for the tub back in the beginning of Jan. Waiting on CCOT to get it all back in stock and shipped to me. So for those of you wondering why I have not fixed the Tub Panels and floor pan issues, that is why. In the meantime, stripping, prepping and painting other project pieces are keeping me plenty busy. I also have all of the suspension pieces, brakes, clutch and other mechanicals, so they are on the list. here is what we got done this weekend and today:

Soaked the rusted ass ashtray over the weekend and stripped the door today, prepped primed and painted door, need to polish the handle

Tore down the rear heater, which the truck did not have when I got it. Picked up a rear heater, steps, rear seats and a full set of springs from a guy down by Daytona for a great price. I will be tossing up some of those for sale in the near future. PM me if you are looking for any of those Items. Anyway, I digress. I stripped and disassembled the Heater, still need to finish the core and paint the bottom as well as test the blower.

Started working on Engine compartment parts, First up was Air Cleaner Cover, which at first looked ok. During blasting, I found it had the original finish, then a rust converted, then a primer, then a black finish coat. A few pinholes and rough metal on the top. Might have to utilize the POR epoxy filler to smooth those areas out.

That HF blaster is paying off! Saves a lot of time compared to using stripper discs and sand paper.

HF Blast Cabinet is a serious Time Saver. it was a POS until I did the mods, now it is amazing. 30 minutes to strip the air cleaner top.

Glove box door.

On inspection, it appears the original glove box speaker and cage is inside the glove box, the seal, catch cable and latch are in good shape. Front of door and hinge were toast, so that is what I blasted and painted.

nice work so far. Ive got the same blast cabinet. You mind summarizing your mods? You have the high flow air fittings. What else did you do to improve it. I’m running a modded one also. I’ve got a switch to control the vacuum speed. Cut a hole in the bottom to feed media continuously . But it seems to bog down a bit. Did the Eastman gun really make a difference?

My blast Cabinet saga
Mods:
built and sealed with silicone caulk
added double gang box with light switch and 2 outlets to plug compressor into cabinet and control internal lighting
added led lights in all corners of cabinet
added metering valve at bottom for constant feed (metering valve the home depot brass pipe fittings type.)
7/8th clear hose for sand feed
added 3/8 hose and regulator with direct connection from gun all the way to main quick connect at compressor
used all high flow 3/8 quick connects
added water extractor at compressor
Built a cart to easy mobility and it makes the glove height perfect for standing there for 3 hours.
swapped out gun for eastwood. changed all hoses to 3/8 high flow for eastwood gun and pedal. had to disassemble pedal as it had skinny ass clear hose to it.
I use a craftsman 33gal 2hp compressor with a belt pulley driven piston assembly. runs at 8cfm.
I run the gun at 40psi, melts paint and rust. I think it took 12 minutes to blast the entire air cleaner cover

Working on the rear jumpers. The hinges are totally seized

made my own version of POR, 2 gallons distilled water, .5 gallons 85% phosphoric acid. about a 20% concentration. 3 gallons costs 20$. 1 gallon of the POR version costs 40, and it is 7%.

One side of seat at hinge is pretty eaten through on tubing. looks like I might have to do some welding to fix...

Thanks. I’ve done most all of those except for a new gun and hi flow connects. I’ll give those a try and see if performance gets better.
