Hi All,I need to get a part for my sept.24 1971 carb on my 69 40 with a 71 F eng. The code stamp reads: 1 I 24.I am looking for the loop bracket that the gas pedal cable goes through(does the cable just pass through there or how do I nut it on there?).I took a pic.off the SOR page and drew an arrow to the part I am missing.
I will post up a pic.of my carb. also.I am just trying to hook up the throttle cable and it seems this is the part I am missing. The carb.was rebuilt by a felow ih8mudder I bought it off.Any advice would be great and yes I did search lots of info on throttle cable, carb.
One last thing the end of my cable is missing a little part that hooks it onto the carb.Almost looks like on a bike hand brake cable?
Thanks,John

Thanks Dusty,I have checked out his site.I just could not find the PN# or a pic. of what I need.Do I need a new cable also cause it's just the bare cable at the very end of it.
I will post up a pic. of the end of my cable. Also a few pics.of my old carb. I have not tryed to find out the manufacture date on the old one(it's a later year model from a 2F? It has the threaded bolt for the air cleaner) The silver tag screwed on it reads: H2641, I looked for a stamped code on the carb.itself, but all I saw was the ISO stamp

Thanks,John

Yes, get a new cable. It has a threaded end on the sheath. You use 2 nuts to position it correctly on the bracket. Mark A probably has the bracket. Just call him up and tell him what you need.

Good luck!

Thanks Dusty66,here is what I have so far; 057-11 24.95
bracket
057-10BA 21.95
accel. cable

Now do I need anything to mount the accel. cable to the carb. bracket? I saw a nut/washer on another photo somewhere that looks like it bolts the cable to the bracket then it passes through to hook onto the carb.

Thanks,John

Thanks for the help there Dusty!:)

Yes, those are the required parts.

I will be in the shop between 1-5:45 Pac time today [Luncheon engagement with old cruiserhead buddy before that; marathon 6 mile hike afterward!] Closed Thursday [B-day!]

Thanks Guys and Happy Birthday Mark!! I am just now checking on mud so I missed your window today.I will give you a call soon Mark as I think my list will be a little bigger.I am going to need a speedo cable as well.

The carb w/ the center bolt air cleaner is the rare 3/69-9/69 USA 2bbl. It is too small, only a 32/36. Was used for 6 months to get by emissions until the new Cruiser specific 38/38 was available & successfully smogged.

Thanks Jim C.,I had no idea that carb. was from a 69.Thats pretty cool I guess,is it worth anything to anybody cause I don't need it for my truck any more.

Thanks,John
