I saw this on posted another site and was reminded of your post here. Not sure what the change is exactly but this must explain why the older power mirror part numbers are being phased out. Perhaps the mirror was improved for towing purposes? If so, then getting the updated mirrors would be much easier than swapping out the mirror itself (trust me on this one).

Interesting... so if I read that correctly, when they went to the 2022 version, the mirror is no longer convex?

The trouble is, new OEM power mirrors are crazy expensive. That is why I was looking at replacing the glass only, as my power mirrors both work fine. You can obtain cheap aftermarket ones without the power option, but that just sux... especially when there is nothing wrong with the ones I have.

I have no clue what the change is actually but I can't help but wonder if they make improvements to the mirror for those that tow. The new mirrors are about $123 each from partsouq but only 12V versions are available new.
