Hi All-

Was out driving today and went to shift and the entire shift rod somehow came unthreaded from the turn signal housing. Likely a simple fix, but I'm having a hell of a time being able to thread the rod back into the housing. Appears I need to take the shift rod fully out to connect as steering wheel housing interferes while attempting to re-thread. Is that accurate? If so, what is best way to remove the entire shift rod? Or is the threading part of the lever, and I can remove the lever?

Thanks in advance!

You need to remove the shift lever first, by squeezing those pins - top and bottom - CAREFULLY. Keep your hand around the shift lever end as you pull it out, there’s a spring in there and you’ll be looking around your shop for a good bit of time until you find the spring and one or both of those pins. With the lever out that threaded piece will come out and can be screwed into the turn signal housing first, then inserted into the shift column, and shift lever with spring/pins reinserted as well.
