Been awhile since I posted on mud, loosing interst for some reason with mud and tlca, will try and post up the install of a turbo and water to air intercooler next week.

Edit, will note that I have had a 73 HZJ and love the rig after having several 81 series rigs, kind of a fun toy to haul around with e lockers and real clean.

Here's some 74 series bling!

13BT CT26 turbo, manifold grey ceramic coat, hotside and dump black ceramic coat, cold side silver ceramic coat and pot rod adapted to become adjustable...

Edit...ya...post up pics of the install. With all I have into the BJ74 it makes no sense to start fresh with a HZJ73, but the option of turbo kits (or home brew) for the HZ, or ease of putting a 1HD-T behind the H55F is nice!

Too late. Truck is stilling sans turbo, till I get to putting it all back together again.

Rob, I hope the bling pic motivates you to post up details of your install!!

I hope so too, thanks Greg.

Yur turbo looks ultra bling..............................

Were you looking for some performance by doing this mod Greg?

Greg keeps getting beaten by the Skylines at the mission race way,
this should shave a couple points off the 1/4 mile and give him that added edge at the show and shine
The ceramic keeps the heat in and spinning that turbine and it is about the only thing that will stick at 1300 degrees.
I wish I had done my turbine when I had it rebuild. I did the manifold and dump on my 1HD-T.

Looking forward to seeing that Denco air water IC set up.. might have to do one one on my 80.

I hope so too, thanks Greg.

Hi Rob.

Like Sheldon says, I'm tired of getting beat by the Skylines :D

Heat efficiency is the key word for me...if that translates to performance then fine. It was all coming apart for a rebuild anyway, and I figured while it was off and apart...lets see.

The IC is all about increased efficiency too...but on the opposite side...densifying the intake air. For sure make sure you follow up and let us all know with pics and impressions.

Little teaser, gonna be next week as the truck is in for a little rust repair.

Gonna run Isspro gauges, pods on either side of the dash, would like to of dumped the thermo inside and out and put them in that dash pod.

One more.

I will also have to evac the air conditioning and move the front tube as it is directly in front of the radiator were the mini rad goes.

looks like it's going to be a very  install. congrats!

bling :shiver: :barf:

toyota has used far to much chrome on my 74, grill, rear bumper, and 'em side dodads under the door, in fact they are the highest maintenance items on my cruiser.

:crybaby:

I had the chrome blasted off my bumpers and running boards and powder coated them black. Looks way better. The only chrome left is the grill and side mirrors.

Had to do some mods, the interooler is suppose to come up from under the truck between the condensor and front tube support member, it just would not fit and I could see no fault of mine.

We did several small mods to make it work, the intercooler went in from the front and the original water pump was suppose to be up and down, we changed it to a sidways location and purchased some coolant elbows to make it work.

Nother note, the pump is twelve volt, could not find a bosch 24 volt to make it work, so we are putting in a 24 to 12 volt reducer.

couple more shots, the gauges showed up today.

water pump is of course twelve volt so I will install a ICT converter with 95% effiency at 40Amps.

The rad and condensor were spaced back toward the engine to make room for the intercooler.

Originally the directions said to install from the underside of the radiator and frame support, but there was no room so we changed the way the water pump was positioned from up and down to sideways and installed from the front.

One more of the spacers we made to clear the lines and not have them touching the rad and some other parts, the spacers are to lower the splash guard.

Looking great!

can't wait to hear how it preforms...
