Sent my 8/68 FJ40 to the paint shop for the first time in its history. Also replaced all door weatherstripping with OEM. Driver's door seems to be out of alignment -- top half is ok but bottom of door toward the rear (away from the hinges) seems to stick out more than I remember. Passenger door fits right. Since I was not on-site for the work, I don't know if the new weatherstrip is causing the problem or if the door hinges need adjusting. I welcome your ideas on the cause and how I might adjust the door or remedy the problem.

The hinges , front , may need adjustment. I will also say NEW weatherstripping can need to "break in" so be careful as a few months of open/ close will speak the truth. These vehicles are not precision machined.

The gap in the rear is all adjusted in the latch.
