68 fj40 rearview mirror (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

I accidentally pulled out my rearview mirror while removing the hardtop. It seems like its just held in by spring clips but I can't seem to get it back in.
Is there a technique to this someone could help me with?

Dab a little grease on the 3 lips and snap it back on.

Engaging the two bottom tabs first then snapping in the top tab by giving it a good downward smack with a rubber mallet or the heel of my palm works best for me.

Thanks! It turns out that I bent one of the springs and it's not fitting properly...will try to reshape it w/some pliers tomorrow...
