1994 Toyota Land Cruiser. Featured in Recoil Magazine- Triple Factory locked Toyota Land Cruiser with Cummins Turbo Diesel. One owner prior to me taking possession in 2000. Vehicle has lived a well maintained and cared for life. It served my young family very well. Dependable and darn near bullet proof. The Landcruiser lived up to every expectation and surpassed most. There came a time where we simply had too many cars and the responsible decision was to sell the family trickster, my wife suggested an upgrade to freshen up the ole gal. (she had no idea what she just signed up for) With a clear permission slip granted, I have spent the last 4 years making this vehicle the ultimate overland Landcruiser.

I spent several weeks trying to find the most competent group to convert the Landcruiser from the fuel thirsty inline 6 to a more reasonable inline 6… After several hundred calls I chose DCS in Montana to install a 6BT into the Toyota chassis. Fit, finish and reliability were the goals. In addition I wanted a vehicle that would provide power and efficiency. Plus it had to be fun. It has been a joy to own and drive. (It gets more looks than an Italian sportscar) I have included a list of upgrades that have been performed over the last 4 years. I also saved nearly every receipt. The spending on this project was supposed to be around 30k… To date- I doubled that number. I have over 60k in upgrades alone. (don’t tell my wife)- Not including the value of the vehicle. I have listed the work that has been completed.

  • Professionally fitted Cummins 6bt conversion (DCS diesel conversion specialists) Reviva Remanufactured engine. 40k mile since installation.

How’s the heat and AC work?

How’s the heat and AC work?
They both work flawlessly. Rear heat still functions. AC blows very cold. Only complaint, during sub zero Temps you will block your radiator to bring the vehicle to operation temperature quicker. Let me know of you need a video reflecting the icy temps.

curious what type of Highway fuel mileage you get. Those 6 BT's will live forever.
