I am wondering the pros and cons of using a 60 series frame under a fj45.
If there is much difference in allowable load.
If there is much work to modify for the 45 to sit on the frame ?
or is one better off welding up the existing frame ?

Just pondering a future project.
Cheers

60 series guys are putting their bodies on 80 series frames, so I would say to skip from the 45 to the 80.

my .02, which is half price today.

I like the idea of a 80 series frame also as it has coils I think.
However I have a fj60 frame and a bj40 in my collection. I'm not sure how the frame is on the 40 series but do want to make use of the 60 frame and cut chop to put the 40 with pick up box on it.
It will end up being another 45 king cab.
Using a fold down tray back I was thinking of getting a topper to put on the tray back, a tray back with fold down sides would be extremely handy for putting things in on the passenger side instead of the tail gate.
Not at the point of actually going out and measuring or looking at diagrams yet, once I commit to comparing I will start taking notes and finding out what size this and that should be.
