Hi Y'all. I have been reading all the posts I can find on here re the EDIC Motor on the 2H Diesel.
Heres what is happening with mine, maybe someone can help.
It started surging, and when I investigated I found that the EDIC motor arm was surging back and forth. I managed to get the car home, but it wont stop unless I stall the engine, and even then if i turn the key off the surging arm continues. The only way to stop it is to disconnect the battery terminal. So after reading all the posts here I am reasonably convinced (in my novice brain) that it must be an electrical issue. Yes it has plenty of oil. So I am presuming that it could be the oil pressure switch or the relay, but I am still kinda guessing. If anyone would like to offer their advice i would appreciate it. Thank you.

when our 2H 47 series did same thing it ended up a poor connection on the big round plug near firewall.
Hopefully something simple such as open circuit and not control relays or edic fooling up.
Id loan you spares for diagnostics but you're bit far away.
