well i tried a search but couldnt find just what i needed. can someone tell me what year 60s came with divorced cases and also does anyone have info on dimensions on 60 and 62 tcases such as size, spline count on input shaft and bolt pattern to mount to tranny. pulling my hair out trying to find all this stuff.

Ther are no years with a divorced case. Input is 19 spline on all years (fj60-fj62).

hmm, i thought some had divorced cases... oh well. how hard would it be to mate a 62 case to a tacoma then :p worth the extra effort or just run the old gear drive mini truck case and have my driveshaft in the rear run at a stupid angle?

the goal is to somehow get driveshafts to the front and rear FJ62 axles that are now in my tacoma.

None are divorced, but they are all "split" style cases. Get a split case transfer case from a FJ60 for manual shift or from a FJ62 for a vacuum actuated unit.

well i have a fj62 with a blown motor i got my axles from, a buddy has probally 20 old gear drive mini truck t-cases in the yard... the thing is which route do i go to get a pass side drop on the tcase. i ended up using my taco axle in my 4runner since it was the bigger 8.4 so i took the fj62 axle and put in the rear of the taco. since i have both diffs on 1 side now i thought about going with my 62 tcase (i have 4 fj40 cases but rather not use them) so that i could keep my driveshafts on one side. if i go with the old mini truck cases to get a pass side drop i will have a center output on the rear shaft and rather not go that route.

Gotcha. Get an adapter to use the FJ62 case on your taco, then either hook up a couple of switches and vacuum lines for the stock configuration or get a manual shift conversion kit for it. Manual shift would be better in my opinion, but why bother buying another whole case when you can just convert the one you have?

right, thats what i was thinking... do they make an plate to put the 62 case to a taco 4 cyl auto tranny is the next question then

I do not know the answer to that question. Give advance adapaters a call.

What is the name of your transmission? A442, H55, etc. Those are both cruiser trannys, but you get the idea.

well looks like i will just end up going with a mini truck case and hope the driveshaft doesnt bind going from the center to the pass side diff.

if i was going to do that i would just rip the drivetrain from my fj40 thats all rusted out since it already has a 350 in it but i really wanted to keep is as stock under the hood as i can since the factory engine and tranny just rolled over 100K and are good for alot more. any idea if my driveshft is going to bind like hell going from a center tranny output to an offset rear??
