6-4=2
Assuming the studs are the same strength that would be a 50% increase in shear strength.

If your concerned with the strength of your MT knuckles, you also have the following options:

5 bolt from Longfield Longfield Super Axles

and

the Other 6bolt knuckle from Luke 4x4Labs Hi-Steer

if you don't feel like buying them just do the 5th stud upgrade , its pretty standard upgrade for mini truck knuckles .

Do you really need a six stud knuckle?

Unless you're running a lot of horsepower, huge tires and love the skinny pedal too much, you probably don't need them, IMO.

Stronger birfs, stronger knuckle studs and regular maintenance will prevent most all steering arm failures.

If you still feel you must have them six studs, please buy the product from 4x4Labs rather than TrailGear. Better company with honest owners.

Isn't that actually a 6 stud capable block welded to stock knuckles? Not the same strength as TrailGear's all new knuckle, right?

Sorry if I'm parsing words. You could have easily meant another 6 stud option.

Good questions, but isn't 4x4Labs' weld-on block inferior to the TrailGear knuckle?

I mean, screw the rest if going 6-stud regardless. I'd want the best. In fact, I'm still hoping to see 4x4Labs configure their superior, behind-the-axle steering sys to fit an off-the-shelf, 6 stud knuckle that can be used on a cruiser axle. Not that my willingness to wait has anything to do with fieldsken's choices at hand.

I have a set of 6-stud 4x4 labs arms from Luke - as do several others on here.

Was not aware of the weld on block - but I've no experience welding on cast stuff anyways, althought I do have preferences for supporting American venders whenever possible. I went ahead and bought the 6 stud knuckles at a time when I had to upgrade from small pattern - rather than do upgrades to a large pattern knuckle (as I had to buy new arms anyways).

A solid weld should be no weaker than the six shooters. Perhaps even stronger considering the metallurgy.. To the best of my knowledge, no one has broken either setup.

Have you asked them? I was under the impression that Luke designed them to fit.

The knuckle is cast steel, not cast Iron. much easier to weld..

No, I haven't! I hadn't wanted to bother them until I'm ready to buy.

I did search 4x4Labs website steering pages last month and saw the landcruiser stuff but no mention of their 6-stud arms being compatible with TrailGear's 6-stud knuckle.

I'll chalk it up to my assumptions and 4x4Labs' being a small business with maybe not the most meticulously thorough website info. Or did I miss that info on their website?

Great news to me, in any case!

yes 4x4 labs makes the arms to fit six shooter knuckles...
i have asked and they told me they would fit...
